Cards for Soldiers

The last week of June, I hosted a "Card for a Soldier" day. Many friends and their children came by to make a card and write a note to a soldier to thank them for their service and sacrifice. I used the Cricut machine, because we had to make so many quickly. Friends also brought items for care packages. I am happy to say that we filled two large boxes full of goodies! Thanks to everyone to helped out!

Summer Flowers

I love paper with flowers! Especially when they are as bright and vivid as the paper I used on these two cards. The first card is made with paper from the new DS paper, Island Oasis. The second card and notebook were made with DS paper from the Pink Flamingo pack. I am a paper freak. I love paper! Seeing nice stacks of colored paper makes me happy! Some people buy shoes, I buy paper. I think most of the stampers and scrappers out there understand my obsession.

I should have taken the card out of the sleeve I put it in. I put cards in cellophane bags so they stay unharmed until I go to use it. More to come! Have a good night!

Great Graduation Time!

Wow! How long has it been? I never expected to be this busy this year. I stopped my stamp camps, just so I could keep up with all the stuff that it takes to raise a teen and be team mom for two teams. Whew! These cards were made for all the wonderful kids back in Colorado that were our neighbors at some point in our lives. I just wanted to cry seeing what beautiful and handsome kids they have grown up to be. I made the cards to match their school colors. More cards to come later in the week. Wow! I am blogging again!

Birthday Card

I have a nephew with a birthday coming up. He is getting older so his card has to be a little more masculine. The stamp sets I used are: Just Football and Starring You. I used Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, and Whisper White card stock. The striped paper is from the paper stack, Sweet Pea that is featured in the mini catalog on page 33. Hope he likes his card!

Die Cuts and Punches

Be careful! You might miss this great little butterfly embosslit die cut. It is at the bottom of page 24 of the new Mini Occasions Catalog. I am so glad that I didn't! It really is cool! I hope that you can see it clearly from my pictures.. Honestly this picture does not do this card justice. The pretty paper is a from the Level 3 hostess bundle Lovely Flowers. Pretty, eh? Okay, now to the punch! I am totally diggin' the new punch style from Stampin' Up! This punch is the Extra Large Two-Step Bird on page 10 of the Mini Occasions Catalog. I added more leaves from the Sizzlits Die "Little Leaves" in the regular catalog. I am so excited about these things that I am making you a special offer! Compose a Card Challenge #3

I can't believe that I have never taken on a design challenge! It was so much fun! It is freezing cold outside, so that provided me with a little extra time in my craft room. This design challenge came from "Hemidemisemiquaver Blog Design". The colors were interesting so I gave it a shot. This is what I came up with. See Becky's challenge at the bottom of this post. Here is what I used:

Do you have your cards made yet? I was really sad when my daughter stopped handing out Valentines. It was my favorite thing to make with her. Now, I am just making one for her and my husband. Maybe I will adopt a busy mom who has a youngster and make them for her kids! LOL!
Didn't this card turn out pretty? I used the Christmas paper from the Mini Catalog that is now expired. The stamp is a level 1 Hostess set, "Holiday Best". That little stamp set has served me well this year!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Gift for a Teacher

I apologize for slacking on my blog! Basketball has consumed my family. I am the team mom for my daughter's HS team and now her travel team! I have been busy making notebooks, bag tags and goodies for her new travel team. I also started a new, private blog for this team!! I swear! What I get myself into!! :) Anyway, before all the craziness started, I made this gift for a friend of mine that is a teacher. She loved it and I am pleased with how it turned out. Today the UPS man came! I am so stinkin' excited about these clear block stamps, I just can't stand it! What is so cool about these clear block stamps compared to the others, is that they have the same great quality of rubber that SU! has always had. The rubber stamps look the same as usual, but the sets are in these wonderfully thin storage boxes!

Peel apart the sticker backing, one side at a time, to reveal the image.

Think Outside the Box

I don't know about you, but many times my creativity is sorely lacking. I was organizing my messy craft room when I came across my "Wedding Sweet" stamp set. I had forgotten how many great individual stamps there were in this set. I cleared my stamping space and went right to work. Today I was feeling creative! I made this card and liked it so much that I decided to stamp multiples of them to send out to my customers. Think outside the box when you see a stamp set like this. I have to tell you that some of the cards that I like the most are the single images that you don't have to do much with to make them beautiful. This reindeer stamp "Dasher" is awesome. By adding a few rhinestones, it makes it even more so. I haven't made a monochromatic card in a while. I like how it turned out.

Where have I been? Tis the Season to be busy. I haven't even started my Christmas cards yet, much less taken Taylor's annual Christmas picture! Ugh! I am finding it hard to play in my craft room! Here are a few of the Thanksgiving cards that I sent out this year. They were totally inspired by someone else, since my brain is dead with all the running around I am doing. I believe Michelle Zindorf inspired the first two cards and Pine inspired the group of cards I sent out to family members. I will post some of the Christmas cards I made in a day or two! Green and Black Birthdays

What is it about green and black that I just love? Everytime I pair up Old Olive and Basic Black, I have to make another card using the same colors! This first card is a birthday card for my big sis an the second card is a birthday card for my dad. Who, by the way, is visiting me this week during his birthday. I feel so special. I actually need to leave to go pick my mom and dad up at the airport in just a few minutes. Just wanted to post these real fast! Happy Stamping!!

Stamp Camp Fun!

Stamp Camp was certainly fun this month. Halloween is just so much fun whatever you make, do or dress up as! On this card we used the brayer over a Versa Mark stamped image. The stamp set is "House of Haunts" and the DS paper is "Cast a Spell".

Of course, "From the Crypt" is a favorite stamp set of mine, just because the designs are so cool! We "rocked" our orange spider in black to get the tips a different color. We used ink pens to color in the greeting in different colors. The greeting came from the level 1 Hostess set, "Holiday Best". We also added some black glitter to the card to give it a little zing!

Boy, oh boy! I sure have seen this cute little coffin floating around blogs and splitcoast stampers a lot this season. The pattern is directly from Martha Stewart's site. Click here to get the pattern. So these are just 3 of our stamp camp make and takes. Happy Stamping! Happy Haunting!! :)

Creepy Crow Card Tutorial

I thought I was losing my mojo for stamping. I felt uncreative and bored. I was browsing Splitcoast Stampers when I came across a card by Michelle Zindorf. I was totally engrossed with her style. I quickly clicked over to her blog and went nuts! My juices started flowing again! I think over the past couple of years, I had been using more designer paper for my backgrounds and forgot to use my whole stamp set, like I used to!!!! I quickly ran down to my stamp room to recreate her card that I posted here: Michelle likes using the brayer and teaches classes on how to use it all over the country! I have a brayer, but just never used it. Why? I don't really know. I guess it was because I haven't been real successful at it. After looking at her blog, I pulled it out again for the first time in probably 8 years!!! Yes, 8 years! Needless to say, we will be using the brayer at our next stamp camp on the 28th of this month! Ha ha!

Okay, so now that I have given a shout out to Michelle for getting my mojo flowing again, on to my card. I love paper, stationery, etc... like I have said in the past... yada, yada, yada! Anyway, I got an email from on of my favorite sites that I have ordered from in the past, (Stationery Studio) great website with great stuff and I saw this Halloween Invitation. My head was spinning with ideas!!! Even though I broke a lunch date to stay home and clean, I couldn't help myself and I am so pleased that I did!! Sorry, Linda and Cathy! Hope you forgive me!! So here is my VERY FIRST TUTORIAL!! YEAH!!

The finished card.
1. You will need a brayer, Versa Mark Pad, Basic Black pad or Staz On pad. More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie ink pads, glossy card stock, black ribbon and, if you choose, punches for the Halloween sentiment.
The stamp sets that I used are: Graveyard Gala, Autumn Days, Branch Out, Teeny Tiny Wishes and the retired set, Simple Shapes.

2. Stamp the moon (circle) with Versa Mark on to glossy card stock.

3. Using the lighter color first, brayer it on to the bottom of the card. Use the darker color for the top of the card. The circle will show up during this step.

4. Tear a piece of paper and place it just below where the two colors meet. Brayer it in the darker color again to give it shape.

5. This is how it should look.

6. Take the tree from Branch Out and turn it upside-down to make it look like the tree is above.

**Branch Out stamp set is on the Dormant List and is not in the current catalog. If you don't have this set, it is one I highly recommend. It is also one of my favorites!! :)

7. Stamp the crows on the trees from Graveyard Gala. 8. Using the Autumn Days stamp set, stamp the wild weeds over one another to make it look wild. I even turned the stamps over and used the bottoms to make more weeds.

9. Adhere the glossy cardstock to Basic Black card stock. If you look closely, you will notice something has changed on my card. I only have one crow and my weeds are a little different. Why? Because after all that work, when I went to adhere the glossy to the black cardstock, I didn't notice how messy my hands were and I got BLACK FINGERPRINTS all over my card! UGHHHHH! So I had to go back and start over. Make sure your inky fingers are clean!! Oh well, didn't I say this was my FIRST tutorial! hee hee! 9. Add whatever you like to the inside of the card...

10. Add ribbon and a punched out sentiment and voila'! The finished product!

I love it when I can let my class go free to get creative! These ladies did such a great job, that I had to photograph their finished products. This is my original. I gave them chipboard, paper and stamps and let them go! Look how great their finished products turned out!

Jodi's frame is below. She used an orange jewel on the skeleton's tooth. Looks great!I love how Alison sponged her background. Especially around the tree! So artistic!

I love the white scrolled paper as the background on Linda's frame, but I really love her little frame where she used the crows and sponged the background yellow. Fun! Fun!

Spooky Sponged Card

It is rare that I see a card that I just HAVE to try right away, but I saw this card on SCS, by Michelle Zindorf, this morning and I couldn't wait! I ran right down to my "office" and got started! I LOVE IT!!!!!! It was so much fun to make, even though I have a horrible head cold! I actually felt like I accomplished something today!! Check out Michelle's blog here.

Boxes, Bags and More Class

Good afternoon! Where is the sun? The clouds are making me sleepy!!! Here is what we accomplished in today's "Boxes, Bags and More" class. The frog looks so cute and easy, but it was time consuming and not quite as easy as it looked. I will post the directions later.

I like this "Game Night" bag. Perfect for a little treat to give out at a party. We used the "Game Night" stamp set and the "Jackpot" paper. We stuffed the bag with a deck of cards. We used the XL die, "Elegant Bag". I think it turned out nice and the silver strips make it look Las Vegas-ie!! LOL

How darned cute is this Birthday Box. I have made this Mini Pizza Box before and it is tooooooo easy! Love that! You can find the tutorial on the Splitcoast Stampers website. We used the "Fast and Fun Notes" and colored them in with the new in-color markers. Topped it off with the new Bermuda Bay ribbon. I just love things that match!! :)

I am giggling because I just noticed that my frog's foot slid to the center of the bag. Rib-butt! This project is so cute, but was a pain in the butt to make!! ha ha! As cute as it turned out, I can tell you now, that I would never make multiples of this for a birthday party. Maybe it gets easier the more you make it, so I shouldn't knock it totally. However, all the gals at class agreed! :)

Okay! Now my favorite! Love this box! I also have made this before, but I just love the new "Autumn Meadows" DS paper. Perfect for a Thanksgiving gift! You can find the tutorial here...

Another Medallion Card

This was one of the first cards that I made with the Medallion stamp. It is a 5X5 card. I stamped the image and then used the Circle Cutter to cut it out. When I realized that it was a tad harder than I thought to get it perfect, I cut another circle and laid the circle on top of an "up-side-down" medallion and rubbed my hands over the paper. Viola'! Not bad for not seeing what I was doing! ha! Sometimes big stamps just work easier that way.

I don't know if this has ever happened to you fellow bloggers, but my camera had such a hard time focusing in on this card, I had to take quite a few pictures to get it clear. I also had to take the picture with the card at an angle to get it this clear. I was wondering whether it was the wrinkled paper or the printed paper itself? HMMM?? The only decent picture I took of the front of the card is way off center, so please forgive.
Anyway, I LOVE Halloween and I LOVE this card! I used "From the Crypt","Graveyard Gala"
and "Eat, Drink and Be Scary". The orange card stock is the new in color "Dusty Durango" and the printed paper is from the new Mini Occasions Catalog. I am crazy about it! More Halloween goodies to come. Hope to see you at my "Boxes, Bags and More" class on the 31st.!

August Stamp Camp Cards

It is so sad that I have not gotten on my blog frequently enough to post cards. Now I have to try and do them all at once! Sorry. This month's stamp camp was a little tougher than most, but I had some of my most experienced card makers there, so it wasn't so bad.

I saw this tutorial for the Tri-Shutter Card on SCS and I knew I had to try it. I ended up making it 3 different times, not because it was hard, but because I didn't know what paper to use! This black and white paper will be out in the Mini Occasions catalog that should be in the mail soon. I love it! There is so much you can do with it! I can't wait to show you what I am working on now, but I am waiting for my shipment of ribbon to come in before I can finish it. You'll love it, I just know!!

This Medallion card was a hit. For camp, I changed the Real Red card stock to Ruby Red and changed the ribbon as well, and I think the cards that the ladies made turned out better. Never-the-less, this stamp is gorgeous and looks so great on textured paper.

Does this Thanksgiving card look familiar? It is because I made it for my husband for Father's Day. You can see it here. I liked it so much, I wanted the gals to give it a try. Lexicon of Leaves is another beautiful new stamp set.

I have had so much fun with my new butterfly punch and the Folded Flowers XL Die from SU! that I can't stop making cards using them both. Another BIG favorite of mine is this paper! It is a new Designer Series paper called "Cottage Wall". LOVE IT!

Thinking of You

I really enjoyed making this card. I like how the flower and the butterfly look together!! I just love it when Stampin' Up! makes punches that fit perfectly with stamp sets. Look how easy it was to cut out my butterfly. You can find the butterfly punch on page 187 of the new catalog or just click here. So cute! I also used the new Sizzix XL die cut, "Folded Flowers". You can find this die on page 201 or click here. I also used the 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 circle punches for the center of the circle. Paper used: Whisper White, So Saffron and Certainly Celery card stock and the DS paper, "Tea Party". The stamp set I used is also new. It is "Teeny Tiny Wishes". This set is loaded with sayings that you can use over and over again!

Friendship Medallion

OMG! I am totally in love with this stamp! This is going to be one of those stamps that I will want to pull out every time I make a card! The beautiful "Medallion" stamp from SU! can be use for absolutely any occasion! I have seen countless sample cards that are so gorgeous using this stamp. We will be using this stamp in my upcoming stamp class! For this card, I stamped the image twice and cut out the center of the red image using the 1 3/8 inch circle punch. So simple, so beautiful! Can't wait to show it to you at camp! Happy Stamping!

Pendant Park

Where has this summer gone? I can tell you where mine has gone. Basketball. Loving that my daughter is playing, but it has taken almost our whole summer. I am so proud of my daughter and husband... Their team took 2nd place in at Nationals in Orlando. I love that they are together, spending such quality time together. Picture below...

Okay, now on to the card. This card is from the new stamp set, "Pendant Park". The beautiful brown paper is one of the new in colors, "Soft Suede". I used it with Basic Black, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla card stock. Simple card, but so lovely. :)

While I was waiting for my new stamps to arrive from SU! I made this card. The unfortunate thing is that I forgot to post it early last week. Then my in-laws came for a week and my blog was the last thing on my mind! Anyway, here is the card and here is a picture of my daughter and her grandparents at lunch one day. Hope your 4th was as great as mine was! Down to the craft room to start using all my new stuff!! YAY!!

Animal Cracker Box and Bag with Scallops

Oh my gosh, this box was so easy! I found this tutorial on this great little animal cracker box on Tracy's blog, Inky Doodles. One sheet of paper is all it takes! So much fun to make into your own design!! For this box I used Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Basic Black card stock. Two jumbo brads, black hemp string, and "Beautiful Butterflies" Sizzex die. The design in front came from the "Tulipe" die found only from Stampin' Up! I cut the design to fit the box. The "for you" stamp came from the stamp set "One of a Kind". Easy as that!

For the scallop bag below, I used the "Bag with Scallops" die cut from Sizzex's. Since the was the first time I used the die and I was short on time, I didn't decorate it. At least you can see how cute the bag is!! I will be making more of these at a later time.

Father's Day Card and Mini Pizza Box

"Lexicon of Leaves" and "Teeny Tiny Wishes" are two new stamp sets available July 1st. I knew I would like this leaf stamp. It stamps clearly and I love that! For this card I also used the new SU! punch called "Modern Label". The current "Word Window" punch fits perfectly with the new one and together they make a beautiful label. Soft Suede is the mat color on the card. I stamped the leaf image twice, cut it out and used dimensionals to make it pop. I colored the leave in with chalks. It turned out pretty nice, don't you think?

This morning I saw Jen Del Muro's tutorial for the "Mini Pizza Box" and I had to try it! Talk about EASY!!!!! I love easy!~LOL Click here to see her tutorial. Hope you will try one!

Echoes of Kindness

As much as I like the way this card turned out, it was really hard for me to make. I like these colors, but they are not colors that I would usually use. That is the good thing about using printed paper in cards, the colors make you think outside the normal color combinations. The new Razzleberry Lemonade paper made me do just that. For the card stock, I used the new colors Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. The new ribbon is great and Rich Razzleberry is it's name. Now, I am off to shop with my daughter on the HOT June day!

Circle Circus

Oh! Sunday is over and Monday is here. What a wonderful morning it was yesterday. Now to the start of the week...... UGH!
In the next few days, I will be making more cards with the new set "Circle Circus". That way you can see as much of the stamp set as possible. There is so much you can do with this set and I really like it. I also used two of the new colors. Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. I can tell you already that my favorite is Soft Suede. I love using brown and you will probably see me use this one often.

Manhattan Flower

There is nothing better than a morning like this morning. It is cool with a slight breeze. It feels like a September morning in Georgia, rather than June. I will take any break from the heat that I can get. I am sitting on my deck having coffee, with laptop in hand. The birds are chirping and I can hear the occasional hammering of a Wood Pecker. It seems like the whole neighborhood is still asleep. It feels so peaceful and I wish the whole day could feel like this. Even my younger dog, Kinley feels at peace because he is not going crazy to bark at the squirrels in the trees. God is good!
Okay, for the card. I can't believe that I have had the embossing folder "Manhattan Flower" from SU, of course, for a couple of months and this week was time that I have used it. It is so beautiful! It looks so elegant on Whisper White card stock. The DS paper that I used is from the Parisian Breeze packet that will not longer be available. I loved using this thick specialty paper for making boxes. You also could make a card out this thick paper alone. Sorry to see it go. Rasberry Tart Birthday

I can't wait for you all to see the new catalog! The ideas! Oh, the ideas!!! I have not had a chance to play with my new stuff yet, since it has been a busy week, but keep looking for it because it won't be long.
Once again, Chat inspired me with here card here. Her card is gorgeous. I chose to the Raspberry Tart DS paper, along with Rose Red and Pink Pirouette card stock. I just love the Flower Daisies #2 Die Cut from Sizzix.

I received my new catalog yesterday and it is already filled with many post it notes!! I absolutely love the new catalog layout! The ideas are fantastic! Also with the new catalog, I was able to preorder some things! Just look at the new "In Colors! Just look at that lovely ribbon! Ah! I am in heaven! I love new things!! Especially when it has to do with stamping or scrapping. I really dig the new color names! Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay. I can't wait to stamp with the Soft Suede. It just looks so rich! I will break down the paper colors for you later today. Can't wait to set up a stamp camp loaded with new ideas!! Happy Stamping!!

Black Butterflies

I love black and green together, so when I saw Chat's card over at "Me, My Stamps and I" it totally inspired me! The black just makes the butterflies pop out! The saying came from the stamp set "Hope Happens". The DS paper came from the Simply Scrappin' packet, "Hoppy Memories" and the butterflies were cut with Sizzix's "Beautiful Butterflies" die. Thanks for inspiring me, Chat! I love your card and mine too! :)

Inspired Style

I love getting inspired from other blogs. I whipped out 4 cards yesterday that were inspired by others. This card from Heather Nichols blog inspired me. I love her blog because she uses the Kraft Cardstock quite a bit with white ink and her cards always look so clean and natural. She is very talented.
For my card, I used two stamp sets; "Simple Friendship" and "Embrace Life". Whisper White craft pad, Kraft, More Mustard and Close to Cocoa card stock. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon. Thanks for inspiring me, Heather!

Rockabilly Recipe Book

My dear friend, Cathy celebrated her birthday yesterday. She saw a recipe book that I made for my niece over a year ago and simply teased me that she would like one... Well, I finally got around to it! Above is her birthday card and below are pictures of the recipe book. SU's Rockabilly paper really makes it pop! Since I won't get my new catalog until Thursday, I am guessing that this little stamp set and paper will be in the new catalog because it wasn't on the "Last Chance" list. The decorative paper and stamp set were a Level 3 Hostess package in the current catalog. The stamp set was called "It's a Loop Thing" and the DS paper is "Hand Drawn". I really hope to see the paper again, because it was absolutely adorable! The saying is from the stamp set "Smarty Pants".

I have been under the weather the past few days. On top of that, we are doing some remodeling in our home. Stamping seems to be a luxury that I am not finding time for lately. However, I am very excited about the new catalog and the new "In-Colors". This birthday card was made with the "Doodle This" stamp set that is retiring. Well, the cute baby birds on top of our t.v. outside have spread their wings and flown away. I was checking on them daily and it looked as though they were ready and sure enough, I went out their Saturday and they were gone. I love spring! Unfortunately, we have had so much rain! I guess that means more time indoors to stamp!! I just spent the weekend scrapping with friends, while my daughter and husband were off at a basketball tournament. I had to stay home with the dogs since it was an overnighter. Such fun! Anyway, here are a few Father's Day cards using the "And Many Mower" set. Babies, Birthdays and the Gadget Queen!

I love gadgets! My daughter calls me the gadget queen. Everything in my kitchen has a purpose. It is the same way in my craft room. Many times, I would feel guilty about collecting so many different kinds of circle cutters, circle punches, die cuts, etc. However, I quickly learned that there are times that one cutting system doesn't work for all projects. This is the reason I love die cuts that nest! I knew I wanted to use this stamp, but every circle punch and other circle cutters that I used would not nest and layer just the way I wanted them to. I went to my die cuts that fit perfectly together and viola! Perfection! Love them! I am going to a baby shower today for one of our tennis pros and I was asked to make this card from our team. I think it turned out really cute! I don't get to use pink card stock and baby stamps very often! Nice to have those on hand, too! :)

A girlfriend on my tennis team is also celebrating a birthday tomorrow. I just love the Urban Garden paper pack. The colors are just so striking! Well, off to make some goodies for my tennis team! End of season party at my house this week! What an opportunity to craft! ;-)

Where has the last two months gone? I can't believe how crazy it has been. May is the busiest of them all! I have totally neglected my blog. I am hoping to catch way up in June! We will see! My niece just got engaged, so I made this card for her. I am glad I snapped a picture of it before I mailed it because it turned out so well! Cute Notepads

I can't believe that I haven't tried to do this before! I had seen so many decorated notepads and thought they would just take too much time. Especially since you have to take the wire binder off! Boy, was I wrong! This was so darned easy and fun!! I just love how they turned out! I am going to be making these forever, now! YAY!!

I made this notepad for my daughter. I used the "Just Jawing" stamp set with the Rockabilly DS paper. (Funny, I always thought it was Rockability) ha!

This one is a little more mature. The paper is from the packet "Bella Blue" and the sentiment is from the new stamp set "Sense of Time" that will be available to purchase on April 1st through our Occasions Mini Catalog. The monogram letter is from the "Lovely Letters" stamp set. Can't wait to make more of these little cuties!

A Mix of Cards

I have had this little stamp set "Cheers to You" for a while and hadn't used it. I am so happy that I did, because I really like this card! I made this for a friend who is having a birthday this week. Didn't it turn out cute?

I used two stamp sets for this card. The sentiment came from the stamp set "Bird on a Branch" and the cute little tree and boots came from "Branch Out". This is one of my favorite cards that I made this month.

Now, the dandy little stamp set will be available starting April 1st. You will see "Just Beachy" in the upcoming "Occasions Mini Catalog". The flip-flop card below was also made with this set. The set doesn't come with any sentiments so immediately I thought of the "life is good" stamp from a retired set. In the card below I used "happiness" from the stamp set, "Warm Words".

Taylor was going to a birthday party so I whipped up this little card. I watched Dawn's video over at "Dawn's Stamping Thoughts"

and saw her use packaging tap behind the punches to hold the glitter! Just brilliant! No gluey messes!

March Stamp Camp

I just love this little box. It was cut with the Big Shot and the Bigz XL die "Box #2" on page 194 of the catalog. It is so EASY to put together. We used the extra thick DS paper from the "Parisian Breeze Specialty" pack. How fun stuff it with a little surprise for someone!!

This card was hard to photograph. The white craft ink didn't show up on some of the pictures. I really like how this card turned out. We used the slit punch to close the card. Cut your card stock as usual and fold. Then cut off 1" from the front of the card. That will make your card fit perfectly in the little slit. The stamp set was Sale-a-bration set, "Polka Dot Punches".

Here we cut the circles with a die cut. The stamp set we used was "Simple Friendship" and the DS paper was "Urban Garden". Card stock is Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy.

I absolutely love this "Bird on a Branch" card and this picture does not do it justice. Alison designed this card to share with us at stamp camp. You can't see it from this picture, but we used the Scor Pal to design a grid on the base of the card. The card stock used is Pacific Point and Garden Green with Pacific Point ribbon. Nice job, Alison! :D

This goes to show you that an easy card can look great! We used Cameo Coral card stock and with DS paper "Pink Flamingo" matted with Basic Black. The word stamp came from "Three Little Words".

Three Little Words

Here is another card with Rasperberry Tart. Isn't this paper just great? The color palate is just awesome! Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Real Red, Cameo Coral! These papers just compliment each other so well! The stamp set I used is "Three Little Words". I copied this layout from one I found on Splitcoast. I will have to do some digging to find the sample card since I never saved it. Have a happy "hump day"! :)

Yummy For Your Tummy Bags

This bag is a sample of the goodie bags I made for my stamp campers last week! I started to make a little homemade treat of Peanut Clusters but my chocolate burned! That has never happened to me before! :( So I ran out and bought some peanut brittle to put in the bags. The little stamp is from the "Yummy" stamp set in the Sale-a-bration mini catalog that you can see here.

February Stamp Camp Cards

The new DS paper Rockability is so awesome! The gloss on the paper is so cool! I wish you could see it better from this card. The whole packet is great! The new eyelet border punch is also a new favorite of mine! Each catalog they are coming up with some new things that I just love and this is one of those things! The stamp set is "Big on Spring".
As much as I love deep purple, I never seem to use Elegant Eggplant card stock or ink. I stick with the same old favorites. I forced myself to make this card and actually it turned out pretty good. The silver balls actually look like pearl in this picture, but the compliment the color well. The stamp sets I used were "On Your Birthday" and "Doodle This".

Here is that nifty little box again! I think the gals had a good time making this. The scallop circle stamp is from the set "Love You Much". We used blender pens and ink pads to softly color it in. The tag saying came from the Sale-a-bration set "Yummy"!!

I love the simplicity of this card. This card is a good design if you need to make multiples!! The "Fifth Avenue Floral" stamp set is my new favorite. The DS paper the coordinates with this is Urban Oasis. It is sheik and fresh! Especially with these two colors!! I think I will make more of this card and send them to a friend!! :D
What can I say about not only the great color palate of DS paper "Raspberry Tart", but the wonderful, beautiful new stamp set "Branch Out". I will use this stamp set for many years to come!

So there you have it... Stamp camp make and takes, minus one card. I will post that later. Hope to see you on March 9th for our next camp!

Happy Birthday???

Well, it is my birthday today and it sure has been great!! Starting off with a little surprise breakfast from my tennis team, lunch with a good friend and well...yes... a little stamping! Top it off with dinner with my two favorite people (Mark and Taylor) and that makes it the perfect day!

The card in this picture started off with a little piece of scrap paper. I just wanted to see how this stamp would look on printed paper and I ended up liking it enough to use it in a card and this is what I came up with! The stamp is from retired set, "Finest Flourishes" and the words are from "On Your Birthday". Pretty cute for just messing around! What a great day! Life is good! ;)

Forever Friends

This is one of those stamp sets that I just loved and it retired before I ever got to show it at stamp camp. The "forever friends" is from "Beautiful Borders" and the leaves are from "Finest Flourishes". A beautiful set that retired too quickly for me!! I really like the simplicity of this card. Sometimes, simpler is better. I will be sending this to a dear friend for her birthday!! This next card is completely done with "Beautiful Borders". I like it too, but the dimensions were off for me. I think I should have made it into a 5x7 card. Oh well! Thought I would post it anyway.

Classy Valentine

I made this Valentine and 4 others just like it for Taylor's math tutor who will be giving them away with a donation for several causes. I can't remember if it was for the Rotary Club or another club, but I was happy to do it. I need to make 5 more of a different style. I like having a project like this. I used Bravo Burgundy, Gold and Basic Black card stock. Gold Encore pad with the "Always" and retired "Wonderful Words" stamp sets. Gold embroidery thread was circled around the heart. I actually think the card is prettier in person. I think I need to retake the picture with a white background. I just don't have the time to do it again... After tennis season! I am sorry to all of you that I have had to cancel stamp camp. I never guessed that this month would get so crazy for me. Hope you are stamping at home and will be ready for February's Stamp Camp!!

Check out this new "Jack Pot" Designer Serier paper and "Game Night" stamp set. The "You're Invited" came from "Sincere Salutations". I guess I could have printed up a whole mock invitation, but I just left it blank. I just love this paper! There is so much you can do with it. I can't wait to use it for Bunko at my house in February. I am not sure what for yet, but I will figure something out! I can't wait for you all to see the new catalog! I am sure you will start sticky noting every page like I did!

Chipboard Love!

I have all this chipboard and I store it away and forget to use it! So I pulled it out today and inked it up with the Riding Hood Red pad and a sponge. The card actually looks better in person. The lighting didn't work well with this card, but I still like it. My goal this year is to use up all the extra "stuff" I own this year...like chipboard! ;) Oh yeah! I got my new catalogs yesterday! My wish list is three pages long! The new dies for the Sizzex are awesome!

Valentine Goodie Box

This is about one of the easiest boxes that I have ever made! Can you believe that this box is made out of this little hand-dandy envelope from our Sizzix die cuts. Click here to see what envelope I am talking about. Click here to view the die itself. The stamp set is from the "Love You Much" Valentine Bundle. I used my blender pen with Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette stamp pads. The stamp perfectly fits the scallop circle, so it was so very easy to make this box look cute! We will be making this cute box or one similar to it at this month's stamp camp. From what I understand, we are getting some great new dies for the Big Shot in this new catalog. I just got word that my catalogs shipped. I will be anxiously waiting for my favorite man in that big brown truck! I am looking forward to seeing you all on the 21st! Until then, happy stamping!!

Celtic Knots - Retired

Sorry this picture is a little crooked. I had the retired set "Celtic Knots" for sale last week and no one picked it up. Thankfully for me, because I needed for this Sympathy card. My friend lost her Grandmother this weekend. :( Once again I pulled out that Night of Navy card stock and paired it with Old Olive. The "with sympathy" came with the Beautiful Borders set. I was making cards this weekend and am not sure I am too happy with any of them. I will decide whether or not to share them today.. Have a good one!

A Little Somethin'

Good morning! I finally had a little time to get into my craft room to stamp. My husband has been adding some shelves for me, (love him!!), so it has been a mess this past week. This first card is from a really cool NEW hostess Level 2 stamp set from the new catalog called "A Little Somethin' ". All stamps in this set are sized to perfectly be punched from a variety of SU! punches.
On this card I used the 1 3/4 punch with Spellbinders Nestabilites for the larger circle and scallop. I really like how the Night of Navy card stock made this card pop! I am going to use that color more this year! I get stuck on certain color combos and I need to design outside my box!! :)

My sister has a birthday coming up, so I made this easy little card for her with the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and So Saffron card stock, Riding Hood Red ribbon and the ticket punch.

Since I have not had a single moment to get creative, I thought I would share a few photos...
This is Taylor with my parents who live in Las Vegas. We went out there for Thanksgiving and it rained the whole time! I thought it never rained in the desert? It snowed there this week! Crazy! It was great being with them and of course it was so good to eat my mom's cookin'!

A good friend took a bunch of photos of Taylor and the dogs in our back yard for our Christmas Cards...This is the photo I picked. Of course, Harley sat there perfectly and Kinley barked at nothing, moved around, etc. I am surprised we even got these photos!!

They did well in this picture too!! Hasn't Kinley gotten so big!

Cathy's Work Day Cards

My dear friend, Cathy made 3 sets of cards to give out as gifts during our work day, today! Aren't they great? All paper, no stamps. What a great way to use your paper and allow the cards to be used however the receiver wants to by leaving them blank! Perfect! I believe this paper was from the Spring Silhouettes Designer Series paper pack from the Spring and Summer catalog. Love how she incorporated the scallop edge punch into the design! What a productive day, Cathy!! :)

Snow Swirled

This morning is the last of my stamp camps until January. It isn't really a stamp camp, it is a work day and I will be working on my cards as well. I made these two cards late last night and I can't decide if I like either of them enough to send to my family. I do love the red and cream striped ribbon!! I also like this tree a little too much. Maybe I need to try a different stamp set? Of course the ones that I send to everyone else will be much less detailed and will include of picture of my daughter with the dogs. I guess I will go back to the drawing boards.

Frosty Day Paper and Thanksgiving Cards

As much as I love the fall and all it's colors, Thanksgiving cards are probably the hardest for me to put together. Maybe it is because there isn't ever any real awesome Thanksgiving stamps? I started one and it was way too detailed to make 8 of, which is how many different families there are in my family, so I settled for something a bit easier. The Frosty Day paper was perfect for something "not so" traditional. That paper set reminds me of some real great colorful scarves. I used two retired sets to make this card.. SHHHH! I know! The words came from last years "Dotted Autumn" set and the pine cone came from...ahhh...give me a couple of hours to get back to the craft room to list it. It's too early and I need my coffee first. LOL! Anyway, I water colored the pine cone in with Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip. Wow! I better go get my coffee! Be back in a couple of hours. :)

More Christmas Cardinal

I used this layout last Christmas for a card we made at Stamp Camp and I have been wanting to try it again. It took me a year to get around to it! LOL! This time I made it into a 5X7 card. I wasn't too keen on this paper and have neglected using it, but I really like how it all turned out. I used the Old Olive and Ruby Red stamp pads to water color the cardinal with the blender pen. I just think he (the bird) is so pretty that he deserves water coloring and nothing else. Maybe I should try some chalks next time I stamp him just to see what it will look like. I also used the Hodgepodge hardware from the last catalog. I should have used something current. Oh well! Have a good evening and Happy Stamping!!!! :)

Green Tea and Kinley

I have been making so many holiday cards that I wanted to take a break and since a good friend of mine is having a birthday, it gave me an excuse to break free from the holidays for an hour or so... I have always loved blues and greens together. The "Green Tea" paper is just so pretty!! Don't you think? I made the second card just because I had all the paper out. :)

This last picture is just a picture I have been wanting to share but have been forgetting to pull it up. Kinley spent an hour or so excitedly barking at a dog that was visiting our neighbors. There was no quieting him down or even catching him to bring him in. Once I finally rounded him up and got him back into the house, this is what happened. He fell asleep drinking water! Isn't that just the cutest darned picture you have ever seen? Can't help but just love him to pieces!! :)

A Cardinal Christmas

I don't know about you but I am SO ready to get this darn election over with. I can't even watch t.v. anymore. The negativity is about to kill me. Thank goodness I voted early! If you feel the same way I do... turn off the t.v. and go stamp! I plan to! That is much more peaceful. I am going to watch a movie tonight and just wake up in the morning to find out who won. I just can't take it anymore! Whew! Okay then, that was my soapbox for the day.... So how about this card?

I can't believe that I made two beautiful cards and put them in an envelope and mailed them without taking a picture of them! UGG! I really enjoyed water coloring this card. I used the Riding Hood Red and Mellow Moss ink refills along with the blender pens to paint the cardinal in. I need to try this method more often. It turned out beautiful. My "Merry Christmas" was a little crooked, but this was just a sample card for me to keep, so I wasn't real worried about it.

Many Merry Messages

It is getting cold here! BRRRR!! It isn't expected to last into the weekend, thankfully!! The one thing I love about living in Georgia is that it usually isn't very cold on Halloween night! Some years, it has been down right warm! I just love the fall! It is my favorite season and when I feel the best! The smell of wood burning, sound of football, a cozy sweater! Love it all!

As for the card....I know the colors are more fall than the traditional Christmas colors, but I wanted to try something a little different. Besides, there are so many non-traditional colors being used for holiday decorations these days. The word set "Many Merry Messages" is just perfect to use all by itself and that is exactly what I wanted to do. I will be using this set for several years to come. I love adding a little "bling" at the end of all those SU! cursive words with the long tails!! :) Just adds enough to make it interesting!!

Santa Rub On

I just got back from the most wonderful weekend of scrap booking! My friends and I have been "going away" for the past 3 1/2 years just to scrapbook. What a super, great time. I finished 16 pages!! I was very happy and didn't want it to end!! :(

Okay, on to the card!! Isn't he the most beautiful Santa you have ever seen. He is a rub on from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The rub-on package is "Old Saint Nick" on page 11. He was so gorgeous that I didn't want to put anything else on the card. The card stock colors are Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgundy and Brushed Gold. I think it is elegant enough to leave like this.
